My goal was to recreate the orignal Duelist Magazines. "The Duelist" was a magazine published by Wizards of the Coast that focused on trading card games, particularly their own Magic: The Gathering. They stopped printing this magazine in September 1999. With this project, I wanted to envision what a modern day Duelist magazine would look like, while making sure I stayed true to the more notable design elements from the original covers.
